Somalia’s TPS Extended and Redesignated Until March 2026

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has extended and redesignated Somalia for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) from September 18, 2024, to March 17, 2026, due to ongoing conflict and crises. Current beneficiaries must re-register by September 20, 2024. An estimated 4,300 new applicants can apply if they resided in the U.S. since before July 12, 2024. The extension includes Special Student Relief for F-1 students from Somalia.
