A federal judge in Boston has temporarily blocked a USCIS rule that reduced the time refugees have to respond to a notice of intent to terminate their status from 30 days to just 10 days. The order remains in effect through November 6, when another judge will consider whether to extend it. The court has not yet decided whether the rule is lawful. DHS estimated that the rule could affect up to 186,000 refugees. Anyone receiving a termination notice should act promptly and consult an immigration attorney.
