CPT Rules Tighten for International Students

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program is taking a more restrictive approach to Curricular Practical Training, or CPT for F-1 students. New guidance tightens how schools determine whether CPT is an integral part of a student’s curriculum. Some universities have already suspended certain CPT programs, which could reduce internship opportunities for international students and affect employers that rely on this talent pipeline.
