Mac Alasad-Murphy is a Team Lead at Raju Law, where she works closely with clients to help them navigate the complex immigration system. Mac received her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology and a focus in Psychology from La Salle University in 2021. She then completed her JD at Widener Delaware Law School (DLS), where she graduated in May 2024. During her JD, Mac was an Advocate on the Moe Levine Trial Team, where she participated in – and won – a national mock trial competition. She is a member of the largest legal fraternity in the country, Phi Alpha Delta, where she served as the Philanthropy & Community Service Chair during her time at DLS. Mac was also one of six members of the Pennsylvania Defense Clinic, where she provided pro-bono services to those who could not afford private legal aid. She gained further hands-on advocacy experience externing at her local Public Defender’s Office, where she honed courtroom skills that she now applies to her legal writing and client advocacy at Raju Law. Mac remains an engaged member of the legal community through her membership with the Palestinian American Bar Association.
Mac is deeply invested in politics and the justice system and has dedicated her career to advocating for those in need. As a founding member and prior Outreach Coordinator of her family’s non-profit, which is based in Philadelphia, PA, she has helped to provide healthcare and support to underserved communities, both legally and medically. As the first person in her family to graduate from college and pursue a law degree, Mac is passionate about breaking down barriers and creating opportunities for others. Her personal connection to immigration law, as the daughter of an immigrant, has inspired her to fight for the rights of immigrants and ensure that they are treated fairly and justly.
In her free time, Mac enjoys reading about politics and legal theory, volunteering in her community, and spending time with her family and friends. She is an avid fantasy reader, averaging about 55 books per year. She loves DIY projects as well as baking, and you can often find her in the kitchen or the hardware store finding a way to create something new. Notably, Mac has twelve siblings – eight brothers and four sisters. Growing up with such a large family, she is very comfortable chatting with clients, and is excited to connect and learn more about them!
