Amanda is an only child that was raised by a loving & dedicated single mother, who is her best friend. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany and spent the first 11 months of her life there. Afterwards, they moved to her mother’s hometown of Greensboro, North Carolina, where she grew up and has spent the majority of her time.

Amanda has experience in Juvenile Justice from her time as a Judicial Extern with Hon. Judge Mark Kappelhoff and experience in housing, social service benefits, and domestic violence protection orders through her time as a Law Clerk at Legal-Aid of North Carolina in Winston-Salem, N.C. Her fondest memories of law school are her time as a Street Law volunteer where she spent a semester with 8th graders, teaching and learning from each other about their rights. After law school, she worked reviewing legal documents for discovery requests where she gained extensive experience in antitrust investigations and merger and acquisitions. 

Growing up living paycheck to paycheck, Amanda has a deep sense of how easily things can go wrong even when a person is doing everything “right”. This experience has guided not only her career but also how she sees the world. She cares deeply about building authentic connections with others, remaining curious & humble, spending time with her 14 y/o Golden Retriever, reading (mostly non-fiction but she loves a good sci-fi), and imagining a better world.
